Player was removed but iscore put him back in lineup

Post by rwatson » Tue Apr 29, 2014 5:20 am

I set up my roster and preset fielders night before game. Knew player wasn't going to be at game so took him out of batting order. Eveerthing was good.

Next day this kid appears at the #2 spot...where he was in the previous game and the scorekeeper didn't realize it. the game was fast moving so now all the batting stats are wrong which means I have to go back and rescore the entire game.

Using ipad 2 with ios version 7.1.1(11D201)

Using latest version of iscore: 4.43

If you can email us exact steps to make a player reappear after they have been removed from a lineup, we would like to reproduce it. You can send the email to support@iscoresports.com. We tried with your description here and have not been able to make it happen.

You can modify the starting lineup/substitutions post game by following the instructions here:

Exact same thing happens to me. Received the opposing teams lineup before the game. Set the 10-12 batters as NOT Batting. Noticed during scorekeeping midway through the game that batters 10-12 had been re-entered into the lineup automatically. This has happened to another person I know as well.

ipad 2
ver 7.1.1

you are not crazy (at least on iOS) I can confirm. I have had similar happen (multiple times) on iOS version...

Here is a reproducible scenario for support trouble shooting (iOS device)

Set up new game (game manager > Add > insert existing teams for home team, visitor team > done

now back at Game manager > tap Game > Play >edit line up ,... example Remove (red minus sign) a kid (b/c injured) > Done > Exit> OK , now at Game Info screen> back >

now at game manager screen, Tap Game > Play, Line up has players back at bottom Save > go into game

in this example i did the home team, but thing same problem exists for visitors

If the player is in Team Manager on Inactive Roster .. he will not "re appear".. but if on active roster, will re appear and if batting set to yes on team manager roster , will re appear batting, if set to not batting on team roster will re appear as not batting..

There was a change in an update over the past year where iScore will now add players to the lineup when the game is opened that exist in the roster but not the game. We used to get a lot of people complaining about adding players to their Roster, and those players not appearing in the games they had created, so we made this change.

The side effect is that if you remove a player from a game lineup before the game has started, and then re-open the game at a later time, the player will be added back into the lineup from the roster.

We have had FAR fewer complaints from people by doing things this way than we had when we did not "back fill" players added to rosters.

We still recommend not creating the games ahead of time, but if you do, and you know a player will not be at the game, instead of removing the player from the Lineup, just set them to Batting = NO. Then the player will not be added back to the game. Or... make sure that in your Team Roster you do not have players defaulted to Batting = YES.

There is really no need to completely remove a player from a lineup. As long as he is marked as Batting=No and has no fielding position he will receive absolutely no stats for the game.

yes, i recall.

just thought i would show how the user could have this happen and why. given how problematic having the wrong number of batters in the line up is . it helps to know, you need to re review.

even if you are doing the game at the field (not "pre setting" the the game) , it is common to set up a game and then leave game info screen before starting play to look at other things on the device.. like who pitched how much last game etc.

any player in the game line up will show up on game stats, prefer to remove players not physically at the game vs have them show with no stats b/c we do have players who may never enter a game and that is different than not being at the game.
