Earned runs vs unearned runs
Earned runs vs unearned runs
When scoring an inning, we made 3 errors during the inning. The runs should not have been earned yet the iscore program counted them as earned runs. Is there a button to declare a run earned or unearned? Can I go back into the game and change the existing results?

Re: Earned runs vs unearned runs
You can manually edit earned vs unearned runs by viewing the game stats and tapping the fields to override. It would be unusual for iScore to get this wrong however. If you can post the exact sequence of plays for the inning we can see if there is a reason iScore is making the determination it is.

Re: Earned runs vs unearned runs
FYI - there is a game setting option (the tool icon om bottom of game scoring screen) called scorekeeping level. it can be set to basic or advance. When set to advance, it enables another prompt on errors. It asks if error hand;t occurred would this player been out.. that can influence the iScore earned /unearned calculation.

Re: Earned runs vs unearned runs
Not my thread, but I was looking for a way to override the earned / unearned. I had an inning play out like this:
Single, Error (runner to 2nd), groundout 3-1 (runners to 2nd and 3rd), walk (loaded), single (rbi, still loaded), K (2 outs), single (2 runs score, 1st and 2nd), groundout 1-3.
No run should be earned that inning, but iScore is saying the leadoff batter would be earned. Replaying without the error is:
Single, out, out, walk, single, K. You can't assume runners advance on any hit/out, so bases would have been loaded on the strikeout.
Thanks for any help you can give!

Re: Earned runs vs unearned runs
If you turn on Advanced score keeping level, then when you advance runners iScore will ask if the runner should have been out. If you say Yes, then the run would not be earned. When scorekeeper level is set to Basic, then Batters reaching on error are assumed to have been out without the error, but base runners are assumed they would not have been out - the assumption is they advanced a base because of the error, but we do not know that means there would have been an out (I.e. A fielder bobbles a ball or overthrows allowing runners to advance - this does not imply an out).
So turning on advanced scorekeeper level allows you to specify that information so iScore can determine earned vs unearned.

You can also just manually override by tapping on the stat under game manager
Game manager > select game> team pitching > scroll to ER Column, tap appropriate cell and edit
