My question is, once the error on #11(Ferguson) is recorded, that should have been the third out in the inning. No runs after that should have been earned. But the last three runs that scored, Iscore had as earned. Is this a known issue? I have manually changed that, but just wondering if a fix is in the works?

Possibly the first run would be earned, but it doesn't seem any of the rest should be earned with the scenario you describe.

We just entered the above first 5 plays, then entered several home runs, and only the first run counted as earned.

None of these runs in the entire inning should count as earned.

In reviewing your data we assume that your objection to the earned run calculation is based on the fact that with Kramer pitching, Blum bunted for an out, Wilson reached on error and Fergeson reached on error. That should have been three outs in the inning and so no other earned runs should have been counted. However,

MLB rule 10.16(i) states:

When pitchers are changed during an inning, the relief pitcher shall not have the benefit of previous chances for outs not accepted in determining earned runs.

They then give the example:

(1) With two out and Peter pitching, Abel reaches first base on a base on balls. Baker reaches first base on an error. Roger relieves Peter. Charlie hits a home run, scoring three runs. The official scorer shall charge two unearned runs to Peter, one earned run to Roger and three unearned runs to the team (because the inning should have ended with the third out when Baker batted and an error was committed).

This shows that even though there should have been three outs during the first pitcher's appearance, an earned run was still charged to the relief pitcher for the homerun. Similarly, in your situation, there were only two actual outs (Blum and Reichenbacher) at the time Hurt came in to pitch and since Hurt did "not have the benefit of previous chances for outs not accepted in determining earned runs", the runs scored against him could be earned. The same was true for Klien.

I didn't know that rule....sorry about that. But THANKS a ton for doing the research on that and finding the answer, I really appreciate it. Just another reason why I would recommend your product to anyone!!
