I was at a OKC Redhawks, Salt Lake Bees game in OKC. Tried to use iScore to score the game. I was able to populate the rosters, but the synchronize feature was disabled, preventing me from obtaining the starting lineups. You only get about 5 minutes from the time each line up is announced to punch in the players and I quickly fell behind. I then tried entering the offensive players as each player came up to bat, and putting in the defensive players during lulls in the action. It quickly became apparent that this technique was not working, because when one batter became a base runner, and I then attempted to identify the next batter, the base runner (on 2nd) picked up the same identity as the batter at the plate. Can you tell me what I was doing wrong or suggest a workable technique? Another problem I had was that some of the players were not on the roster and others were on the roster but had a different number. I have successfully scored 4 major league games, thus far, but have been greatly aided by the more accurate rosters and successful use of the synchronize function prior to game start. Player substitution works as it should with the major league clubs as well. Thank you...

For MiLB games, we provide rosters as found on the milb.com site, but we do not get the starting lineups the way we do with MLB games.

If you do not get the starting lineups prior to game time, the easiest way to score the game is to do your best at setting the 9 starting players you see by setting them to batting under Misc -> Show Starting Lineup. Then as players come to the plate, rearrange them to the correct batting order. If you have a player wrong, adjust as necessary in the Starting Lineup screen. This seems to be the approach most people use.

When a team is in the field, it is easy to look around and see the jersey numbers of the players that are in the game and make sure you have them set to Batting = YES in the starting lineup for the team.

In our local minor league stadium, both lineups are written where we all can see. I just copy them in to iScore before taking my seat and verify the order by looking to the on deck batter's number as well as the position in the field.

Ha! Have to laugh. I was at the Redhawks/Bees game Saturday, 5/11, trying to do the same. Had the rosters preloaded from website. Dropped family off at gate and asked wife to get the starting lineup. Parked far, far away. Heard the starting lineup being given while on concourse looking for seat. Tried to start scoring, but wasn't familiar enough to find misc->starting lineup to make changes on the fly. Gave up at start of second inning. My wife knows I'm a total geek before today, but she was getting tired of all the "who's on second," etc. questions.

Was my first live attempt at scoring a game. Scoring my son's T-Ball tonight. Wish I could have set by you and watched a pro in action! Better luck next time!
