On my Nexus 7 I have been experiencing crashes when running the latest version of iscore. I am pretty sure the error message that I get says "Unfortunately, iscore has stopped". It says this three times in a row. I seem to be able to restart the game and it remembers where it left off, but still it is a pain in the neck that it keeps crashing and also a little bit unsettling -- I don't want to lose any data.
I have tried rebooting my Nexus 7, not running any other programs, etc. but it still keeps happening. It seems to happen most often when I go back and forth between the various windows in the program (like the pdf scorecard, the game manager, the game scoring window, etc).
Anybody have this same problem on the Nexus 7?

We have a Nexus 7 device that we test with, and have tried to reproduce crashing issues and have not been able to. If you can give us a series of steps that can lead to a crash, we would like to try and reproduce and we would then be able to fix it.

Re: Crashing issues on Nexus 7
I have not been able to score a game *without* it crashing yet. (I have done about 4 games so far). Very frustrating... It seems to happen most often when going back and forth between the game scoring window and the pitch by pitch window. It usually happens when I hit the "PLAY!" button. But sometimes it even crashes from within the scoring window.

Re: Crashing issues on Nexus 7
Why are you going back and forth between the scoring screen and the pitch by pitch during a game? We will try doing this to see if we can cause a crash, but wondering why you would be doing that during the game.

Re: Crashing issues on Nexus 7
I need to go back and forth for a few reasons. Sometimes I miss a substitution and I need to go back and insert a substitution. I believe the only way to do this is the pitch by pitch window, and I think the only way to get to this window is to exit the main scoring app. By the way, I would LOVE to see an option in the player substitution window to make the substitution be effective at the start of the half-inning. Many times it is easy to miss a substitution that happens between innings... If you notice the substitution part way through the inning it is very difficult to implement it correctly... You would either have to go back to the pitch by pitch window or you would have to do a bunch of undos to get back to the beginning of the half-inning.
I also need to leave the main scoring window to view the PDF scorecard. Technically this does not exit the scoring window but I still wonder if this could be related to the crashing problems I am encountering. This is one of the weak points of the app, IMHO, since I would like it to be easier to see the overall scorecard. The coach wants to know what the current batter did in his previous plate appearances, but the coach also wants to know what the on-deck hitter did in his previous plate appearances. Right now the only way I know of to get the on deck hitters plate appearance info is to go to the PDF scorecard constantly.
Also I need to exit the main scoring window to go back to the team manager page during the game to add players that enter the game. This is another issue/bug with the app... If I add a new player to the team during a game by using the misc/show starting lineups/add option, for some reason that player does not actually get added to the teams permanent roster. He shows up on the in game roster fine but will not appear in the main team roster.
Hope this helps and please let me know if I should be doing things differently.

Re: Crashing issues on Nexus 7
To get players added to the Team Roster when you add a player to the lineup screen, press the Options button on the lineup screen, then use the "Copy Lineup -> Roster" option.
For missed substitutions, we would suggest subbing in whenever you see the substitution, and if you want to edit them, you can do it post game instead of disrupting the scoring to make the substitutions. If you look around the field while a pitcher is warming up during each half inning, you should be able to make the substitutions before the first batter comes up --- they can all be done with one trip to the sub screen.
Viewing of the scorecard is something that we have added to iPads, but have talked about why it has not been added to Android without bringing up the full PDF in other parts of the forum (too many types of Android hardware with various capabilities and no great way to detect which is which).
We still hope to do it in the future.
We have had the request to make subs back to the start of the half inning, and will likely be doing this in a future update as well.
