Data Import merging players that have been deleted.

Quick background - I installed the Android version on my Kindle Fire. I entered league/team/players/etc, and then decide to score a pretend game to get a feel for it. For the opponent, I used the name of the team we were going to play in our first game later that day, just made up names.

Since my Kindle wouldn't have internet, i decided to install the App on my phone, and score the game with that, so i created all the data from scratch, and scored the real game. I exported it, etc. All is good there.

Last night I wanted to get the Kindle "in sync", so to be safe I deleted *everything* leagues, teams, games, players. I recreated the league, then I did the Data Import->Get data from Web. Put in the ID of the phone customer id, imported data. It showed me the teams and game. I picked the game, and it showed me all the data it was going to import.. New game, 2 new teams, the players on my team were all listed as new, BUT, the players on the other team all showed their correct names, and then an arror showing that it was going to merge them with the "made up" names I had on the kindle originally.. which I most definitely deleted. I tried this numerous times, and no matter what, it still always had the original player names on the Kindle and wanted to merge.

I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling on the Kinda, then importing and that was fine. So somewhere, even though I deleted everything possible, it still had those original names, from that *1* team (not both teams) on the Kindle.

Yes, that is correct. When you delete a player, it actually marks the player as deleted, it does not actually remove the player. There are several reasons for this, but the main ones are that people delete players and later decide they did not want to do that, so we allow you to recover a deleted player, and second, if we actually removed the player it would leave game data in an inconsistent state becomes games could possibly be scored for players that no longer exist.
