when i am putting the players into a lineup it gives 4 options for batting -"yes" "no" "dp" "flex"
i understand what yes and no is for but what does dp and flex stand for and what do they do?

DP / Flex is an option where you have a dedicated fielding player and a dedicated batting player that share a role (kind of like DH). It is mostly used in Softball though high school baseball also allows it in their rules (though it is rarely used in HS baseball from what we have seen).

if i have all my players marked yes cause i dont know who will be in the lineup at what position. is there a shortcut to this?

When players are added to the roster, they default to Batting = YES. If you have set them all to NO, you would have to change them back to yes manually. There is a shortcut on the Lineup screens for new games... you can tap that column in the lineup list to quickly change the batting value for the players (as opposed to having to open the full player details for each player).
