Cannot export over 3G

Post by bmclaurin » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:06 pm

I can practically never successfully do an Export over 3G. This has been a consistent problem over several of the last iPad releases. Works fine over Wifi. I have reset the device, reinstalled the app, etc., etc., but nothing works. Always get an error message from iScore. I don't see others reporting this, so something must be wrong with my setup. I have tried from multiple locations over many weeks, all with strong 3G signal (>4 bars).

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1 (but this was happening prior to iOS 5 as well), app version 3.43.233. This started happening right on cue with 3.35.215, and I have had the same problem with all subsequent releases. Was never a problem before 3.35.215. Right now, I'd say literally about 19 out of 20 attempts end in failure...no exaggeration, it might actually be worse. I've tried turning off 3G, then turning it back on. That trick works every once in a while, but When it does work, it's only good for one export, then it's right back to failing.

Is nobody else seeing this, or am I the only one?

We hear about this sometimes, and our response has to be that it is connection related. The number of bars you see is the strength of the cell phone signal, and is not necessarily representative of your 3G connection. We will try and add more fault tolerance / internal retries for poor connections to an upcoming release as we know this can be annoying.

OK, thanks, FTM. Glad I'm not the only one. A tweak to a future release as you described would be great.
