Quick Roster info use in other games

Post by perronem50 » Wed Jun 15, 2011 9:44 pm

I had been generating rosters at game time when we get the lineup cards from the other teams. I would enter the player numbers and leave the names as Player 1....

When we played one of those teams a second time I selected that team in the Game Manager when setting up a new game. When I looked at the roster none of the player numbers appeared and I had to re enter them again. That wasn't as bad as the fact that I didn't have what those players did even after I entered the player numbers.

1) Is that a draw back from using Quick Roster feature under Game Manager?

2) If so, what is the best way to eliminate that issue.

3) Last, is there a way to fix that in the system so I can have what the players did in past game in new games? We are playing in a tournament this weekend and we have a lot of teams that we played in the past and I would like to just select those team when playing them and the roster show up with what they did at past at bats.

In the first game you should copy lineup to roster to update the roster. It's in the misc menu.

Camerbry is spot on..

Sorry for the initial inconvienance, but think we can get you up to speed for next time.
You can solve all three of your points by familiarizing yourself with how to use COPY LINE UP -> TO ROSTER and MERGE players features...

Quick roster as you use it is designed for just that, last minute and on the fly entry of player names and numbers. But that just updates the game line up, you then have to copy that to update then team roster. Once in team roster, they and their history will be their when you create next game with that team. (At time you create a new game, the roster is copied to the game line up, and then on they are separate.)

How?
if still in game scoring screen, use. misc button > choose copy line up to roster option..

if post game, (often the case), then use pitch by pitch. specifically tap..... game manager > desired game > pitch by pitch > game starts > edit starting line up > home/visitor > options > copy line up to roster.

Duplicate players?
Sounds like you may have also inadvertently created duplicate versions of the same player (multiple John Smiths) since you re entered names in second game game line up. if so you can fix this by merging them into one and get all their history for future..

How?
Turn "all" league on in league manager,
go to player manager, and look for duplicates,
then choose lower left merge button,
merge the player on the right list into the player on the left list..
The player on the left will remain and should be the one in the team roster for future use.

Extra tip
be double sure you are merging into the correct player (into the left column).. A way to do this is to first go to team manager, roster before you merge, and mark each player so you know they are the desired end target (example, put an explanation point on their name ie john smith! #12, will know then when you have multiple John smith to merge into one with explanation point.)

Nope this helps, let us know if more questions

You are AWSOME!!! I learned more from your posts on various topics than everything else put together. Would have been great if there was some sort of manual out there that explains each of the function, did I miss it somewhere?

This explains a lot especially what the COPY LINE UP - Thanks!

THere is an "unofficial" manual created by a user which you can find at http://iscore.fasterthanmonkeys.com/training.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It was created in the beginning so there have been a lot of upgrades since then but it's a great place to get started. I also recommend watching all the videos. But nothing can replace practice and real time experience.

glad to help

see http://iscoresports.com/baseball/training.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
for more training info (videos and user guide -- scroll down towards end).

the user guide was made by forum volunteer (allarounder) . it is pre ipad and shows iphone examples, but most the base concepts translate to device and OS. we have not found time or money to update it more formally.
