A Couple Quirks About Creating Players

Post by bepeacock » Sat Jun 11, 2011 6:26 am

I go to several AA Minor League games in town and ideally, I'd have the full roster set up in my app, but that's just not going to happen since there's so much movement in the minors. Plus I don't want to pay for the program every time to get the most current. So I find myself creating a couple players on-the-fly every game. The simplest way I can see to do this is to go to Starting Lineup and create a new player. But whether I'm creating players before or in the middle of a game, it is on this screen that things get a little buggy.

1) In the field to enter a player's number, if that is the last typing field you enter and you tap save, the number will not remain. It will revert to blank and show as 0. You have to tap another field (last name or first name) before saving for the change to be kept.

2) There is no League field in the creation screen. So once the player is created, I have to find him on the list of all players, go back and edit him, and then the league field is there and I can choose the correct one.

If the Devs can take a look at these couple of issues, it'd be much appreciated!

For #1, always hit "Return" on the keyboard when you change a number if you are not going to change fields.

For #2, the player will be put in the leagues(s) you currently have enabled. So if you always make sure in League Manager to set the League(s) you are scoring for before you being scoring a game, then any of these ad hoc players will be added to the correct leagues automatically.

Ha, #1 makes sense. Had no idea about #2. I've been going about this the hard way. Since I like to score majors on TV and go to minor league, I'm trying my best to keep those teams and players separated. Thanks for the tip on setting league before creating a game.
