Rain delay-resume game-timer 00:00

I had two issues today with rain delays.

First: I had someone else score our first game today and they had a rain delay so she went to Misc and tapped Rain Delay. After a two hour delay they restarted the game. She went to Misc and tapped Resume Game. The game timer went to 00:00. Not anticipating a rain delay I had failed to warn her to not use the Resume Game feature as I knew what would happen.

Second: I was scoring a game later that also had a rain delay. I was prepared to restart the game when the first pitch was thrown so I wouldn't loose the game timer. When the umpires returned to the field they said the game time would resume when the team took the field. There was about 3 minutes elapsed between the time the team took the field and the first pitch was thrown. That made the game timer 3 minutes late compared to the umpire's time.

I don't understand the reason why the game clock resets to zero when Resume Game is used. I'm sure there is a good reason. It would be nice I there were another resume option that would not reset the clock other than using ball or strike.

I'm running v4.533 on iPad ver 8.3.

There are several reasons the rain delay does not track game time properly. The main one is that we do not "time" the game. We take the time the game started and the current time to determine the duration. When there is a rain delay, we track timestamps for when the game was delayed and resumed, and try and do the math to make the duration correct.

We also can not "time" the game for several reasons... the main one being we could only run a timer while the app itself is running, and users have to be able to exit the app and resume scoring for any number of reasons (incoming call, checking other apps while running, etc).
