How do I start a new season as it relates to keeping my team stats for this season?

There are two ways to go. Members here have discussed both with with pros and cons. A search on "new season" may bring up earlier threads.

One way is to use Leagues to segregate seasons. This thread discusses league usage in depth. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1531" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The other option is to start a new team each year (team2014, team2015.) This is my personal preference but plenty of folks keep the same team and just update players each year and use leagues to separate stats.

Thanks Mom.
I find it odd that iScore has no provision for seasons.

Upon further review, as they say, this doesn't seem to answer my question. I think you misunderstood what I was asking for. I wanted to see stats for our current season which will start in 2 weeks.
However, I think I found my answer under Team Stats and using the filter, but every time I open Team Stats it defaults to full stats. Is there a way to lock it to the current season?
Do I have all of this right?

Leagues is the way to handle this to make viewing stats for any season the easiest. Think of a League as a grouping. You can create any groupings you want including Seasons. See the following link in the iScore Manual:

Yes but when I create a new league the players retain their stats. Do I have to create a new roster for each league I create?

you do not create a new "roster" for each league .

Let's step back for a minute..

Leagues are just a grouping mechanism, they group, players, teams, and games.
( just like you create groups of players on teams, you can create groups of games in leagues)
You assign a player to a team, and 2 teams to a game. You assign teams and games to league, a players season stats are just a collection of stats in select number of games .., leagues allow you to logically group games however you want. A season is just a group of certain games,.. If you turn ALL leagues on, you see lifetime game and stats, if you turn on only a league, you see only that league games, teams players and stats. you can create as many differnent " leagues"as you want. Eg, 2014 season, 2015 per season, 2015 regular season, 2015 post season. 2015 conference games,

Let's recap now how it works in iScore
* you create and manger players in PLAYER MANAGER
* you create and manage a team in TEAM MANAGER.
* you create and manage a team roster in TEAM MANAGER
*** use TEAM MANAGER to add/remove ...assign players to teams by adding them to Team Rosters eg John smith to 2014 varsity eagles and 2015 varsity eagles

* you create and score games in GAME MANAGER
** when you start a game you >> assign two teams to the game and refine the game line up which >> assigns players to the specifc games..
** when you score a game >> stats are created by player and become part of the underlying device database for future use.
* you can then view stats by player, or by team and filter by group (league)
( just like you create groups of players on teams, you can create groups of games in leagues)

* you create groups ( leaguess) in LEAGUE MANAGER
Ex.2014 season, and 2015 season

** you use TEAM MANAGER to assign your Team to the appropriate leagues .. (you can do this upfront, or any time)..
Ex 2014 varsity eagles --> to 2014 regular season league
Ex 2015 varsity eagles --> to 2015 regular season league
** very important, you must assign the team to the league to make the team 'visible' in that league.. As a matter of preference, I also make sure my opponents are assigned to correct leagues,

** use GAME MANAGER to assign each game to appropriate league
.. This ties the player stats for a game to the league..
( again this can be done at any time, per or post games)
(This can also be assigned in league manager in iOS devices)
** very important, you must assign the game to the league to make the game 'visible' in that league

** you can also assign each player to a league, if you want to filter them by league, generally I only do this for players on my team, not opponents

VIEW STATS
When you actively use leagues, and maintain the above assignments, players, teams, games to leagues..

You the simply leave on the league you care about (eg 2015 season) and the device masks all the rest., so only games, in that league are in game manager and so only those stats are part of player stat history or team stat history

Hope this helps

Well, no it didn't help. I created a new league as I said it still shows player stats from the other league.
Do I have to assign EACH player to the new league?

leagues are a filter..

Turn OFF all the other leagues... then only players teams games and as such stats for that league will show up
