Sorry for the extended effort on this. I am going to go through a number of things below. bear with me, take them one step at a time, and jus keep reporting back. .

- #2) - this helps me to know you have two Armstrong (very important to know), but when you say "roster" i do not know where you are looking (under player manager, or team manager or game manager) I assume Team Manager, but helps to know definitively.
you can help me help you, if you would add that info .. i.e. when clicking players/viewing stats are you under
Player Manager,(aka Player Manager >Player > Player Stats,) or
Game Manger (aka Game Manager > Game > Edit > Starting Line up ) or
Team Manager. (aka Team Manager >Team > Roster > Player
I know it sounds silly but it helps me know where you are at and trying.
also you said you click on Armstrong 2016 it shows 2016 stats. but you did not say what happens when you click on armstrong 2017, does it show blanks, 2017 stats or something else?
the whole copy line up idea, is since you have players that may have the same name "Armstrong" but to computer are two different players (i.e. the underlying unique id is different) copying from game manager > edit > starting game line up to Roster, makes sure they are on the team roster. (and by the way, if a player does not move from game line up to team roster, you may have orphaned the team, and that is a real problem).

IN PLAYER MANAGER (not team roster) do you have one or two Armstrongs? I am assuming two. If so, for troubleshooting, lets edit their names (in player manager) to add 2016 and 2017 to end of their last name. now when you click on Armstrong 2017 in player manager does he have the RIGHT stats for 2017 (how many games). Does Armstrong 2016 have right stats, in player manager (how many games)
for troubleshooting, We want to make visible to us as humans each unique Player that the computer tracks, hence the 2016 and 2017 tag (you can remove later). Knowing how many games are associated with each Armstrong will help me also see if explains the 12.
When you click on Armstrong 2017 , make sure and read at the end of their stats, what teams and leagues they are assigned too. is that correct? Especially the number and name of teams. ? Is armstrong 2016 assigned to right team? is armstrong 2017 assigned to right team. Are you perhaps missing a team ?
IN TEAM MANAGER
Review your list of teams carefully, do you have a 2016 team and 2017 team or just one? (i assume just one, but be sure you do not have a variation of team. For clarification while trouble shooting. Try adding the 2017 to your team name. (you can change back later)
now in team Manager > Team > roster, .. .which armstrong do you have Armstrong 2016 or Armstrong 2017. or both? click on names here (in team manager > roster) and tell me who has stats, does Armstrong 2016 have stats from here (how many games) , and armstrong 2017. (How many games)
by the way, if you edited the team name to team 2017. when you go back to player manager and click on Armstrong 2017, player stats, does he show team 2017 listed at end of his stats. If not, then let me know.
In Game Manager
for a 2017 game (one of the four,call it Game1-2017unless you have a better name)
Game Manager > game 1 2017 > edit > starting line up > visitor/home. Which Armstrong do you have listed 2016 or 2017? click on their name to show their player stats. ( Sometimes the name edit from before does not show up until you click on their name to show their stats)
you can add in a Dummy player here. to test the transfer, Add new Player, Create Player, Call him something like TEST Player. Save. make sure he is NOT batting. Save
go ahead and option copy line up -> to roster.
TEAM MANAGER
Team manager > Team 2017 > Roster > Who shows up are, Armstrong 2017 Armstrong 2016 Test Player ?
