FTM, was curious as to how the program handles earned runs during a tie breaker situation? I was looking up earned runs in my rule book for a question about them on these forums, and came across this:
NFHS Rule 9.6.3 Note: For the tie-breaker procedure, the run scored by the player starting as a runner at second base will be charged to the defensive team, not the pitcher.
My interpretation is that the runner that starts at second will still be classified as an earned run, but will not go against the pitcher's ERA/ERG.

Re: Earned runs during tie breaker
Along with this topic. I have not figured out how to start the California tie breaker with one out. I get the right player on second - but we most frequently play with 1 out to start the tie breaker. Any suggestions anyone?
Re: Earned runs during tie breaker
What I usually do is just start the inning with no outs, then end the inning early (under misc) after the 2nd out is recorded. Not elegant, but it works.

Re: Earned runs during tie breaker
That would be my suggestion as well.

Thanks - this does work okay - just wanted to make sure I was not missing a place to start with an out!
