Stats vs new jersays

Our new season is about to start - May 5, 2015
The league has bought new jersays for all the teams but will not receive them before the season start.
It is expected to receive them at the end of May, 2015, meaning that each team will have played 4 to 5 games...

The players will play with the "old" uniform and it is not sure that all the players will get the same uniform number :

The problem expected concern the stats : Tom was wearing number 45 and now will get number 30.

Correct me if I am wrong :

by simply changing and saving the new jersay number of a player will not affect his stats, he won't loose them!

Jersey numbers are just informational. You can change jersey numbers from game to game and it will not effect stats for the player.
