Import roster from web

Post by daronk » Wed Apr 29, 2015 11:33 am

I have 2 different leagues. I create a team on the web and enter the roster. The team is only part of one league. After importing to the device the team shows the correct league but the rostered players all have both leagues checked for the player.

When you enter data on the website, it is going to be added to whatever league(s) were turned on in League Manager the last time you Exported. There is not a way to assign leagues from the website itself. That would have to be done on the device.

ok - so maybe I'm also using the feature incorrectly. I coach 2 different teams that are in different divisions. Minor A and Minor B. Technically the same league but a Minor A team will never play a Minor B team and the players should be kept separate and furthermore the divisions have different rules. Do you recommend setting them up as different leagues? You don't have a division feature in iScore.

You can think of a league in iScore as a "group" and can use them to group games any way you like. The stats for your two teams would not be mixed when viewing the team cumulative stats, so from what you describe here, you actually do not even need to use leagues. Usually people use them to view stats from season to season.

ok - If the league is dependent on what leagues are "turned on" in the league manager...then why is there a choice when creating a new team to choose the league at the bottom of the team info page?

If the "leagues" or divisions have different rules do you still have to change the settings back and forth everytime you start a new game? Meaning the settings are global and not league specific?

The settings are global. When you create a new game, it will default to the last settings you used for a new game, but they are not saved on a league by league basis. See the following link to the manual for more information on league usage:

thanks - I'll continue to use leagues to create a clear separation of divisions.
