Ability to go back and edit

Post by Redondo Samurai » Tue Oct 01, 2013 11:43 am

Hi, our team is new to IScore and I have recently put in our first 26 games. I was still getting used to the system in the first few games and I made a mistake where I did not score one of the runs for the other team, and I did not notice until I was at the end of the game and realized the score was off by a run. This game now shows as a tie when it should have been a loss by one run. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!

There is not a way to "edit" a run back into a game. You can go into the game and add a dummy home run for a dummy player at the end of the game to get the score to be right and manually edit any stats as needed as described in the following link from our FAQ:

Welcome to iScore and the Forum
(please post back if/when you need more help, this community is pretty good about helping new folks get rolling)

counter to some posts outside this forum, yes you can correct things in iScore - (better than leading competitors too by the way). but depending on the type of mistake/correction needed, some times much easier than others.

By means of education.. there are Three types of 'repair"

1) the normal "pitch by pitch" editor , is used to correct most "non material mistakes" post game. (eg substitutions, hit/error, passed ball / wild pitch etc, type of hit soft/hard/ medium, ground/line/fly and location. etc ) . .. but it is limited to things that do not " have downstream implications / materially impact the game" ..things that can't be changed in editor are out to safe or safe to an out, or advance a runner an extra base . ..nor change the number of players batting in the line up.

the way to see if you have an "editable event" to just TRY IT .. it is not always intuitive what can be edited this way.. In the case of Runs Scored or Not you can generally take runs off the board in pitch by pitch editor, using the run not scored button, but adding runs (or more generally advancing/retreating a runner a base ) is generally not allowed.. editing this way updates everywhere, the stats, , the scoreboard, the iscorecast and the scorecard (with some exceptions) .

you can try your situation in by .. home Screen > Game Manager > Select game > select Pitch by pitch / Edit game > scroll to run the event you want to change, > tap on event > tap on specific item to edit > see what options you can adjust (or not)

2) The second way to correct, is the most complete and is always available and that is to re enter the scoreing screen and use "Undo" ... all the way back to the place of the mistake and then manually rescore everything from there on (print out your score card and play by play or iscorecast in advance helps, for reference) ... this is easier than it sounds, and recreates everything, the scorecard, the stats, the iscorecast, the play by play the scoreboard etc. (Side note, I write down the original end game time before i do this to)

3) the third repair method is for stats (only) purposes, you can go in and "override stats" from the Game info Screen > batting/pitching/fielding Stats line > tap on cell and if editable a curser will appear (ie R column for runs, RBI column for RBIs) . in your case you can manually give the player the Run credit and whomever the RBI, (but this will not change the score card or score board) . but it will update the derivative stats.

Hope this primer helps.. Post back if/when more questions
