Discovered teams have no batters

Post by PhilB » Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:16 pm

I'm seeing a problem when I import new teams via Discover which is similar to a problem that used to occur with Data Sharing import. None of the roster players are enabled as batting, so the roster is full and correct but none of the players are eligible batters. Please change this where all of the imported players are enabled to bat and then we can disable batting for players when game time happens.

Thanks,

I think thats a tough one, because it could just as easily be a case where you have more non-batters on a roster, and you would be creating the same problem for them (having to set the majority to batting=NO).

Maybe an option would be to add a way in the roster to quickly set all players to batting yes.

I guess it's a question of how many teams have rosters with 18 or more players. I know this is common at the college level and above, but I don't think it's that common in youth ball.

FTM,

Do you think you can add an option (maybe with a radio button) to either prepopulate the roster players as batters or not? For the youth leagues my son plays in teams typically have 11-13 kids on their roster, and most teams bat the roster on Saturday. It is faster to turn off batting on 2-3 players than to turn on batting for 9 players.

For those teams that have a large roster and only bat 9 you could allow users to turn off all batters, for the rest of us allow us to turn on all batters.

Thanks,

Which source are you importing from? USSSA?

I've seen this with Nations Baseball. Haven't tried to discover from USSSA yet.
