Sacrifice fly with error not scoring correctly.

Post by rsay » Sun Apr 14, 2013 10:57 am

Bases loaded sacrifice fly with no outs. Center fielder dropped a ball hit straight to him and everybody advanced with no outs made on the play. The sacrifice is not showing up in the hitters stats and I don't think his stats are being calculated correctly.

The batter had 4 plate apperances. Single, Double, 6-3 ground out and Sac fly w error.

I think I should see PA 4 AB 3 Sac 1 sf 1 avg 667 roe 1, but I am seeing PA 4 AB 4 Sac 0 sf 0 avg 500 and roe 0. (I didn't check for other stats that might be affected.)

For fun, I edited the play and changed the hit to a single and his average correctly went to 750

I apologize if I am calculating incorrectly.

To test this, we started a new game, entered 3 walks. We now have bases loaded, no outs.

In Play, Sac Fly with Error, tap near CF, Next, (who made error?) CF, Done
Safe, Home, Advanced by Batter
Safe, Third, Advanced by Batter
Safe, Second, Advanced by Batter
Held Up

Viewed stats for the player... 1 PA, 0 AB, 1 RBI, 1 SF, 1 SAC

Our guess is that when it is asking what happened to the runner on third, you did not select Advanced by Batter. In order for the Sac Fly to register, a runner must have scored using Advanced by Batter. Try editing the pitch by pitch and make sure the runner scoring has been entered as Advanced by Batter, then the calculations should all fix themselves.

Good guess!

That fixed it. Thanks. I don't know why, but sacrifice flies are the plays that I most commonly score wrong. (Not because of the program, but because I forget that it is a sacrifice fly when I see it live.)
