Game dates for previously played games

Post by 4basescovered » Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:27 pm

I am trying to enter game data for games previously played. When i start a new game I can edit the game date to reflect the date the game took place, but when i go to enter the game data the game date changes to the current date. Is ther a way to have the game date reflect the date it was actually played instead of teh current date?

When you click "Play!", it puts the current time in as the start time for the game. After you have scored the game, you can open the game by going to Game Manager, and clicking on the game in the Game Manager list. From the Game Info screen, if you scroll down to the start/end times for the game and click on them, you can modify them by clicking on them.

What about pre-entering games? It would be nice if you could set up a game in game manager ahead of time with option to select the game date and scheduled time along with the teams. Actual time of the game could still be linked to the "play" button. Currently the game info defaults to the current day, but can be edited in the game title from the game mgr screen, however when viewing these games from the website the date is reflected as 12-31-1969. Also an "add to calendar?" option button would be good for those website users.

Good suggestions... we will had hide the "12-31-1969" date on the website as it really means no date, and the Add To Calendar is a good idea. We are definitely looking to continue improving the Team Websites quickly.

Thank you.

For games that have been preentered in game manager, if you have to swap teams from home to visitor in the options tab of the line up screen the title of the game is not changed accordingly. Everything else is updated, box scores, etc, but the title remains unchanged.

That is correct... we would not try and change the name of the game because you can actually type anything you want for the name. Some people change game names to thinks like "League Championship Game" or whatever. We default to "Visitor @ Home", but you can override that any way you like. You can even edit it after the fact... so if you do swap home/visitor, and used the default game name, just be sure to go to the Game Manager, and change the title of the game from the Game Info screen.
