3rd out on the bases not ending inning

Post by PhilB » Sun Apr 07, 2013 3:12 pm

This weekend I scored some games after updating to release 4.02.307. I had a new bug pop up in every one of the four games scored. When the final out of an at bat occurs on the bases (such as caught stealing) with a batter up to bat who has not struck out, the inning does not end automatically. The scoreboard at the top shows 3 OUTS, but the batter is still up to bat.

Now this can be fixed by using the MISC menu to end the inning, but in that past that hasn't been necessary. I assume this new bug has been introduced with the update to 4. I would like iScore to automatically end the inning when the third out is made, instead of having to manually end the inning.

p.s. This bug was upsetting in the middle of a game when I couldn't get the inning to end and the next inning was about to begin. I didn't remember about the "End Inning" command since I've never had to use it before. I had to manually force the batter to get out (the 4th out of the at bat) to progress the game. I was then planning on using offensive substitutions the rest of the game to keep my batting order correct, but for some reason I could not use offensive subs, so my book was wrong for the rest of the game. Fortunately I found "End Inning" later so I rescored the game and was able to get the book corrected. I think this error should be easy to recreate, but I kept the two games that I scored without using "End Inning" just in case to help in debugging.

We just tried this on an Android device (Google Nexus 7) running the latest version of iScore (v4.08). We did 2 strikeouts, walk, Ball, Strike, then runner caught stealing at 2nd. Inning ended as normal.

Make sure you are on the most recent release, and also make sure you have not changed the number of outs in an inning. If you are using an Amazon device, we have been submitting the updates to them, but they are slower than Google Play about making the updates available.

I'm on a Kindle.I have the latest version available in the Amazon store. Outs per inning are set to 3 (the inning always ends after the third out on a strikeout or play in the field).

I'm considering getting a new Android tablet and purchasing the Android Play release just so I can get updates more frequently. I wish you had a frequent buyer program as I already have the iPod and Kindle versions and if I get the standard Android release I'll have the triple-crown :D .

Hopefully Amazon will make the newest release available soon.

Unfortunately the manufacturers do not share sales information. We wish Amazon would allow customers to install Google Play on their devices so it was not required to purchase from the Amazon App Store for Kindle devices - unfortunately that is part of their business model is to subsidize the cost of the devices by forcing all apps to be purchased through their market.
