Couple of issues with Scorecast replay

Post by Danger » Fri Mar 29, 2013 3:29 pm

Hey, I've had a couple of issues come up with the iScorecast Replay:

(Issue 1)
• I score games for a number of different teams - couple of travel teams, three middle school teams, etc.
• I have a Wix website for a couple of those teams, on which I embed the iScorecasts for that specific team
• After about a week, I apply a password to the replay of the games to prevent too much scouting from upcoming opponents
• Each of the parents has the password to replay the score casts.
• On the embed of the Scorecast, at the top, it's lists only the games of that particular team, as it should.

Here's the problem which has begun since the latest update:
Some of the time, when I click on a game to replay, I'm prompted for the password as I should be and the scorecast appears. The rest of the time, however, I'm not only prompted for the replay password, I'm ALSO prompted for the Customer ID, which I shouldn't be. When I enter my Customer ID, EVERY game that I've scored (not just the ones for that team) are showing up!

This brings confusion and, dare I say it, heartbreak to our followers. Any idea what's going on there? I've had this embed on there for awhile and it's never happened until the latest update.

(Issue 2)

During replay of a game, the pitch-by-pitch will be rolling right along until it gets to the part where the opponent changes pitchers. As soon as that change is made, boom, the replay stops. No way to restart it without starting again at the beginning of the game. Even doing that, the replay still freezes when it gets to the pitching change. I'm not sure if that's the ONLY thing that freezes the replay, but I've noticed it on two different games now.

Thoughts? Comments? Am I crazy? Do you need me to email you my Password and Customer ID so you can try to duplicate the issues?

For issue 1, we did not make any changes to iScorecast in this regard. If you use http://iscorecast.com/?c=TEAMNAME" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, it will show the iScorecasts just for the team. If someone enters a password incorrectly for a game, it's possible they would be redirected to the standard iScorecast login page. This is not new functionality however.

For issue 2, if you email us a link to a game where you are seeing this issue, and tell us which inning you are seeing this, and which browser you are using (IE8? IE9? IE10? Firefox? Chrome? Safari?) when it happens, we can try and reproduce it and see what is going on. Send the email to support@iscoresports.com.

Okay, I've figured out the first issue. When I enter the password and click "login" it works fine. If I enter the password and hit the "Enter" key on my MacBook, it asks for the Customer ID and everything goes kaflooey. Interesting, because I am so used to just hitting the "Enter" key any time I enter a password on a site. I'll just add a note to the page and that problem is solved.

Issue #2, I will email the info to you.

Thanks!

Both of these issues should now be resolved.

Yep, that did it. I can now use the "Enter" key to log in and the replay did not freeze up.

Thanks for the incredibly speedy work! That's why you guys have the best product.
