At the http://my.iscorecentral.com/maintenance.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; page (Database Tuneup tab)
I use 'Optimize Now' frequently to keep my data nice and tidy. However, it never purges the players that I delete. They keep accumulating. Currently I have 2 teams, 3 leagues (All) would make 4 and approximately 30 to 40 players loaded. How do I purge the 570 / 580 players (I can't even access, view or show them), making my database foot print smaller?
The optimize report says:
Summary of your database:
Database Size: 869,376 bytes
Leagues: 4
Teams: 2
Players: 615
Game Events: 0
Games: 0
Games Pending Deletion: 0
Thanks

Re: Tuneup - Optimize Now
Players are kept internally and just flagged as deleted. This is by design. If we actually removed the players, then games you have scored could wind up pointing to players that no longer exist.
869Kb is not a large database. We actually suggest never deleting data, but instead using leagues to separate data so you always have your historical data.

Re: Tuneup - Optimize Now
Thanks for the reply. My database was getting quite large (very slow to import and export) with all the games, teams and players. Thus, I decide to clean house, purge the data and start from scratch.
After optimizing, it still showed 615 players when I expected to see just 30 to 40. I can accept the new database size. I'm just some what of a perfectionist and if I was possible to squeeze out a few more bytes, more power to me. At the same time I wanted you all to know as well
Thanks,
PS
I was able exported all the stats (teams, games, players). This took a several nights emailing myself all the data.
Keep up the good work. I have really enjoyed your product.
