Bunt outs

Post by Ksagrera » Sat Mar 22, 2014 11:31 am

Iscore allows us to score bunt outs, but there is no statistic available for bunt outs, unless of course I am missing this. Please let me know if we can get a bunt out statistic. And also, we are now able to track bunt foul halls but Jo statistic available for number of bunt foul balls. Please advise...Thanks, Kimble. (Btw we are using iscore for High School baseball)

A bunt out is tracked as a ground out, and a bunt foul is simply a strikeout. The additional information (the fact that it was a bunt out and bunt foul) is used for "commentary" in the pitch by pitch listing, but statistically, they are still just ground outs and strikeouts.

I agree with every you said in your reply. My question though is we are trying to track our bunt successes vs bunt failures. We want to be able to show the players statistically our teams success relative to bunting success/failure since bunting is very intrenched in our fame plan. Bring able to track bunt fouls whether it be on strike one two or three allows is to monitor the players success rates. In the same fashion whil I agree a bunt is just a ground out, as we are a bunting team we would prefer to group bunt ours as bunt outs, ground outs ad ground outs, Same as po pouts, fly outs, and line drive outs. All the same out but each has their own merit. I sincerely appreciate your consideration. Thanks, Kimble
