It would be nice if there was a quick and easy way to look at the next batter or 2 in the line up to see what they have done in the game. This would be very helpful when trying to decide if you want to intentionally walk a batter.
It would also be nice to be able to archive off old unneeded information (teams, players, games) so that was not in the active Database but could be retrieved for historical information.

The easiest way to handle #1 is to use the scorebook. If you use an ipad, you can have this displayed while scoring.
I like the archive idea as that database can get pretty large after 4 seasons and will continue to get bigger and bigger obviously.

i have a fairly large data base (but not the largest i am told) and have found that it has not hurt scoring performance (speed). (i use iphone 4 and ipad 1 most the time).
Option > Export has been accelerated over time and if you are on broadband connection 'fast enough'.
periodically when i get annoyed with all the random teams and players and games, i just use leagues to filter out the noise, if i truly don't want to see them in my league i assign them to the "neutral zone" a special "archive league" to just hold junk. , but i do not ever delete players or teams or games
