Sub batters by tapping on them

Post by jailerjoe » Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:35 am

I'd love to be able to sub batters by tapping on them next to home plate. Not sure why the sub window pops up if you can't actually switch to a different player. This actually confused me at first and I screwed up an entire inning trying to figure out how to sub a batter after finally realizing you can't sub the batter this way.

Thanks,

Joe

That IS how you sub a batter, but you have to have at least one player in the lineup set to Batting = NO, or there will be no substitute batters available.

That's good to know but why can't you sub someone who is in the lineup? Most games I don't have a lineup before the first pitch but I have a good idea of how it will go. The problem is that, as you've pointed out I can't sub the batter for someone that's set to bat. Instead I have to hit the misc. button, hit the Show Starting Lineup button and then move people around there. It'd be so much quicker to just be able to tap the batter and be able to choose ANY player regardless.

Just a thought from a new iScorer.

Thanks,

Joe

Using show starting lineup and rearranging the players is the proper way to set the starting lineup. To do a substitution, you would tap the batter and then tap a player not currently in the batting lineup.

You may want to watch the training videos available at http://iscoresports.com/baseball/training.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as a new iScore user - you will learn several tips.

I understand that but I don't always know the exact starting lineup until the kids start batting. So I set the starting line to the best of my knowledge and invariably the 3rd, 4th or 5th batters are different than I anticipated. It sure would be nice to be able to tap the batter, bring up the player screen and be able to select a different batter even if that batter is already set to bat at a different, later spot in the lineup. This would be quicker and easier than opening up the misc>show starting lineup menu.

I have watched all the training vids (they're great) and I've scored more than 50 games. It just seems like an easier way to correct the lineup especially when there is lots of action and kids are hitting and getting on base.

Oh well thanks anyway.

If the middle of the inning is hectic, you can adjust the starting order of the lineup in between innings, even after they have batted. It will automatically readjust and show the stats for the corrected batter. What is important is to get the right number of batters correct before going through the entire lineup.
