Wild pitch as a ball

I guess this might be classified as an "ease of use enhancement. "

When the pitcher throws a wild pitch, I record it as a ball - it pretty much HAS to be a ball. Then I advance any runners on base and record that as a wild pitch.

Doing it this way makes one play look like two separate actions.

What I'm suggesting is to permit recording the wild pitch first and automatically recording a ball. That way it would be shown as one play, not two.

Maybe something similar could also be used for a passed ball, although it is possible for a passed ball to be a strike.

I've been using iScore baseball for 4 or 5 years now - first on an iPhone and now on an Android tablet. Seems like I find something new and improved every time I crank it up. Thanks.

A wild pitch can actually be a ball or a strike. A batter can swing at a wild pitch.

I has seen wild pitches that are actually strikes due to the batter swinging at a bad pitch.

Wow! Can't believe you answered so quickly. To follow up on my request, is there another way I should be using to make the play by play be a single item?

No, that is the only way to do it right now. We will add the request to come up with a way to show them as a single play to our enhancement list for future consideration.

Kids swing at wild pitches for dropped thirds sometimes.
