Last 10 games

It would be nice to have the ability to look at stats over the last 10 (or pick a number) games. As we get deeper in the season, it's nice to know who has been hot. Thanks.

This can be accomplished with leagues. Place last 10 games, for example, into a league called "Trending"...continually add the newest game and remove the oldest for every new game created, so that you always see the last 10 games on a rolling basis.

Once set up, its fairly easy to maintain.

I just posted on this idea - and didn't see this post. I'm totally on board with this. I'd love to be able to grab either specific games or any given time span. I would want more than just a defined 'last 10' but a select-able time period or to be able to multi-select specific games. This way could see all of our stats versus "Team A" throughout the season. Or to be able to see the stats for any given week. Definitely helpful if teams want to award a 'Player of the Week' or just to see given trends.......to be able to see if a player is striking out more or less given certain factors (recently or vs. specific teams, etc).

Love this request!!!

Again, I'd emphasize mprusak's answer, teamchampion02. You can already accomplish everything you just requested, in any combination that you are creative enough to think up. For instance, I have both a "Last 15 Overall Games" (we play both summer league ball and tournaments) and a league set up for the last seven league games. That could be last 10 and 5, any number, and it could be further diced into day/night, turf/grass, by defined dates or weeks, anything you find relevant and worthy of tracking by league. All you have to do is be willing to add each game to the relevant leagues you want to track that game in as you create it, and take out the oldest game as it falls outside of your league-defined parameters.

This latter part is I think what is the sticking point - people want the "trending" feature without the work of adding and removing games from leagues. Something like a default "Last Two Weeks" (or something like that) that would apply to each team and automatically select games.

The problem with that is that everybody's idea of what selection of games is most relevant (or large enough to be meaningful to them) is different. The way Leagues is set up now, you have ultimate flexibility, and as mprusak says, once you set up these leagues, it really is NOT hard to maintain them properly.

I use a lot of Leagues...probably way more than I need. Home or Away, League-All or Non-League, Specific League, Tourney-All, Specific Tourney, Trending-Last 10.

Its pretty easy when creating a game to assign each of these leagues.

The tedious part, as plivengood points out, is un-assigning the leagues that have fallen out of whatever your criteria range is. Its really not that bad if you have 1 or 2 of these and you don't stray from this at all. (in my case, every time I create a new game, I go to the 11th game down, and deselect Trending League)...

But to do something ad-hoc is a real pain...not sure what the solution to this would be. I'd like to see better league assignment options in the admin website. Something that allowed for quick and easy selection/deselection of leagues would be welcome.

I already have 20 leagues just for the tournaments I've entered this season alone. Your scenario requires a compounded effort unless some sort of archiving (past seasons) feature is developed and implemented. Creating and maintaining additional leagues just for the sake of trending is absurd. That's why we have apps/programs - to relieve users of tedious tasks.

Sorry - I work in Systems for a living......saying a repetitive, manual task is 'not that hard' is a joke.

The solution is simple - a checklist of all of the games you want to pick from, with the ability to perform a multi-select function. The functionality would result in a table to be displayed (just as it does now when you select Team Stats) showing the stats from those selected games. There's the business and functional requirements at the 40,000 ft level. If we like - I can go more granular - even put together Use Cases to further tell the story.

This allows the use case scenario for trending - what are the trends vs Team A or Team X. Or the last 10 games....5 games....whatever.

Let's get coding boys!!
