When showing the placement on the field where the ball is hit, it would be benificial to also gather information about the type of hit that placed the ball there. Buttons for high fly or pop-up, line drive, and ground ball would be great.

For plays that result in outs, this is actually captured (you get to select Ground Out, Fly Out, Line Out), but for base hits, we are not currently capturing that.

We will add it to our list of enhancement requests to store that info on base hits as well.

Realize this topic is over 2 months old but this request fits right in.

I think there should be a distinction between a pop-out and a fly-out. When looking back at a scorecard "p-7" vs. "f-7" makes a world of difference.

We will add Pop Out as an option to the outs menu in an upcoming release. We are not sure if it will make it into 1.70 as we are trying to wrap that release up ASAP and get it shipped.

I've always looked at these as being the same... are you distinguishing pop out vs. fly out by how long the ball hangs in the air? What is the distinction?

Not so much about time in the air but more about distance and "readability".

1)As I mentioned earlier, as I review a scorecard and see: runner on third, less than two out, F7 and the runner does not attempt to score I can assume that the fly ball was too shallow to score on but if I see P7 I know that the ball was hit too shallow to score on.
2)Not used too often but, an outfielder could be brought in as an extra infielder and again there would be a big difference between F8 and P8.
3)F6 is hard to imagine - how can a hitter "fly out" to the short stop. Or one could be referring to a "hump-back liner" or was it a true pop out and should read P6?

Spray chart not withstanding with all the examples above. "A line with a dot at the end" doesn't always tell the whole story because distance on the field isn't always easy to translate on a piece of paper.

In essence the better the distinction on paper, whether it's P7 vs. F7 or Ls5 (lined softly) vs L5 (lined) - which I use - makes one understand the results on the field easier.

I would add a request for foul balls

Was it a foul tip or a foull ball? and swing, check swing, or bunt attempt?

Was it a foul pulled or away. I may want to know if a RH Batter has pulled two huge fouls near or over the fence and then grounded out 4-3.

When I look back from his next at bat, if I do not consider those two huge fouls down the LF line, I'm not putting my fielders in the correct position. (assume I had a brain cramp and forgot and am relying only on the data - which is possible if you next play this opponent 2 weeks later).
