Scoring Stolen Base

When a runner steals a base, the only option is defensive indeferance. It would be nice if you could see a stat on pitchers who don't hold runners on. Thus any stolen base gets charged to the catcher. If that is the way it is anyway in college and pros, so be it. But as a coach or recruiter, I would like to see a stat on a pitcher who doesn't keep runners close. Also to see if a catcher is given a legitamit shot at the runner or if he just can't throw anyone out.

Would have to be accomplished with notes, I think. There is not an official differentiation between the two.

I think trying to analyze those things is beyond the scope of this application which is truly a scoring tool.

My opinion...I'm sure FTM and others will chime in with their thoughts as well.

In Fastpitch Softball the runner can't leave until the pitch is thrown anyway, so that stat would have no relevance.
