iScoreCast status

Post by Egghead_#8 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 4:27 am

Not sure if this has been brought up before but it would be great if while scoring a game you had a status indicator of the iScorecast. I will sometimes get a phone call or someone will come tell me that a viewer says the broadcast of the game is hung. Not sure the cause but for good measure I'll repush the iScorecast and things are cleared up.

What version of iScore are you using. We added some retry logic to a recent iOS release that should prevent this from happening, but are curious what version you are experiencing this with.
Check out the new iScore Baseball documentation page!

I was running at least 3.40 .. I've just upgraded to 3.41.221 so will see how it works out. I've got iOS 5 on an iPad 2 .. One thing that maybe was a contributing factor was that my iPad was connected via bluetooth to my iPhone 3GS to use the 3GS' personal hotspot. Making a phone call on the 3GS during this caused one interuption I know but maybe it also contributed to the reports of the site being "hung" as well.

Regardless, this is a terrific app and tool for parents. I've gotten a ton of thanks from parents unable to travel to the games that are able to sit at home (or work) and "watch" the game feed.

I've had requests from the parents for more detail on the iScoreCast (such as more detail as to where the ball is hit, etc). Adding more animation to the field would be tremendous (a player at the base occupied, an animated ball, etc).
