Swinging third strike
If you use the "swinging strike" swipe up of the strike button on the third strike it shouldn't ask you whether it was a swinging strikeout or looking.

Re: Swinging third strike
And if you just dab the strike button it should assume it is a strike looking

Re: Swinging third strike
We still need to ask about the strikeout because it could have been a dropped third strike and we need to collect that information.

Re: Swinging third strike
Right - all I'm saying is that if you strike-swipe on the third strike then make that a normal swinging strike. If the scorer wants to score a dropped third strike then they would just tap the strike and press the dropped third strike button. It's just one little shortcut for the more usual case of a swinging third strike.
Re: Swinging third strike
Been there done that, the way it is now works better.
If you are in the habit of swipe striking, most likely you will swipe strike on a third, drop, wild or passed or not.. won't remember to tap strike in that situation. Better to have the extra prompt in my opinion
That said, many young youth leagues do not use drop third rule, for those leagues a global option to disable would be helpful I am sure and worth considering ...

Re: Swinging third strike
Can I suggest a comprimise?
On a non-dropped third strike, do as suggested above. On a dropped third strike, touch out, dropped third strike and the recoded PO & assist. This is the same # of touches as at present, but on the vast majority of strikeouts would only be 1 touch rather than the 2 at present.

Brilliant
+1 on the compromise- that would be a nice way to handle it.
Re: Swinging third strike
With any new application, there is a learning curve. Our natural tendancy is to want to make the application conform to the way we are used to doing things before, rather than try to get used to the new way of doing things. When I was a new iscore user, a lot of the screens and input questions seemed repetitive, cumbersome, etc. Now that I have scored 100+ games, I must say they have put a lot of thought into how data is input given that they have many different levels of users, levels of play, etc. Many of the suggestions made on this forum are good and FTM keeps track of them all for prioritizing, but keep in mind that practice and experience go a long way, and many of these inconveniences will not bother you much later. I would trade all the extra taps here and there for more accurate scorekeeping, instant stats, and impressive post game analytics any day!

I agree. It's fine as is.
