In my son's leagues (high school and Select) a game is 7 innings barring rainouts, extra innings etc. I would like an enhancement to be able to set the number of innings in a standard game to 7.

You can do that now. When creating the game, go to Options, and there is a setting for Innings. You can set that to 7. This setting will be remembered as the default for future games you create as well.
