Online view - ball tracking

Post by djandyo » Thu Apr 14, 2011 6:24 am

I am by no means a programmer so i don't know if this is even possible. But, is there a way to better identify where a ball was hit for the viewers online. I know the sytem places a tiny ball on the screen in relation to where I enter it from the game, but could a line, similar to the spray charts, be added to that animation? I think that would really enhance what the viewers are seeing and get them more into the game.

In addition, it would be really cool if the online users could click on the batter and see their spray chart online as well similar to what i can do from the entry point screens. I am not sure what it takes for more interaction from the users online, but something to consider and really cool if possible.

We will be adding more features to the online viewing, and seeing the ball in a nicer way is one of the features we would like to add. It is unlikely we will be adding spray charts to the online viewing because most coaches like to keep that information to themselves --- if the competitor found they could see all the spray charts by watching the iScorecast, it could give them an advantage.

Thank you for the suggestions.
