High School Specific Situations

Unfortunately, the High School season is almost over as these programs are released, however, this is a great scoring program overall and I believe several things are being addressed as I write this so forgive me if I repeat something. Much needed updates are: back dating to enter games already played , options for 7 or 9 inning games, 10 run rule after 5 in HS games, and VERY important; separating season stats for pre-season, district play, playoffs, and overall stats. If possible, a separate summer season. These are much evaluated stats for high school players. Lastly, I really don't care about scoring every individual opponent player. (Too many teams, too many players) So an update to allow one general opponent of annonymous players and use for home or visitors all season would greatly simplify scoring where our team is all that matters with each game labeled by opponent. Keep up the good work. I have tried ALL of the scoring apps released and this is by far the best!

Thank you for the feedback... we will use it to help prioritize upcoming releases.
Just wanted to point out that back dating games is now possible in the v1.65 release (released last night). It may not be obvious because you have to go back and change the date after the game is created by going to game manager, but you CAN do it.
You can also set the number of innings played for a game (7 or 9, or any number) by going to Options when creating a new game.
The separation of stats is actually something that is being addressed in our next release (1.70) as we are adding "leagues" which is really a way of grouping games. You will be able to see stats for a team within a league, or combined across leagues if you would like. In your case, a "league" could be created for each "season" that you have defined. Other users will use that feature for tournaments, etc.
What is the "10 run rule after 5 in HS games"? I believe you are the first person that has mentioned that one to us, and we want to make sure we account for it correctly. I believe the ability to have a max runs in an inning will allow us to account for it, but I just want to make sure it is not different in some way.

He might be talking about a "mercy" rule. If one team is up by X number of runs after X number of innings, the game is called. Maybe in HS it is a 10 run difference after 5 innings... not sure. Most youth leagues I have been in have some sort of allowance for a total blowout.

In high school baseball (at least in Texas and New Mexico) there is a "10 run" mercy rule whereby the game ends after 4-1/2 complete innings if the HOME team is ahead by 10 or more runs; or after 5 complete innings if the VISITING team is ahead by 10 or more runs.
With regard to back dating games, I must be doing something wrong as I can't get them to show in the new date order once I edit the date.
And as I mentioned earlier, it would be nice to be able to play against one community opponent so that players from 15 - 20 different teams wouldn't have to be entered. Most of our coaches don't care about the other individual players, just how we did against them as a whole as long as you could identify each game by opponent team name.
I really do think this is the best program out. I bought K-force at 19.99 a week before it dropped half price and never liked it. Hitting tracker is second best to iScore but doesn't have the details or the flare. Keep up the good work!

You can actually just create a team called "Opponent" now, and use that as the team you play against. You can have the players called "Batter 1" - "Batter 9" (or however many batters they have).
One nice thing about doing this is when you look at the Opponent team stats, you will always see how the opponents did against you as a cumulative value so you can compare your averages against "opponent" averages.
Thank you for the details on the mercy rule --- we actually do have mercy rule on our list of future enhancements, and it will be able to account for several different variations (including the one you have specified).
