Hit Chart Shadows

Are the hit chart shadows really necessary? They're confusing the parents and they're getting in the way of some of the other hits in the same area. I think the fact that the line is curved is enough to indicate a fly ball.

I second this. At least make it optional.

Are you referring to a specific report where people are getting confused? We feel it helps show the actual direction of the ball --- without them a ball to left center may look like it went to dead center for example, but the shadow shows the ball went over the shortstop. If you tell me which screen/report you are having trouble with, we can see if we can make it more subtle.

Well its the locations for the entire season. A few of the shadows for some of the batters are over some of their other hits. I can see where the shadows can come in handy. i think the issue is that the newer hits override the old ones, but it would be nice if the line drives and ground balls in the same area be able to override the shadows so you can actually see them. One of the players hit a ground ball. Later, he hit a fly ball in that same direction. Now, the shadow of the fly ball is completely covering the ground ball.

Is this on the device? or on the website or printout? We should be using "alpha transparency" on the shadows which means they would never actually block out the lines underneath. So if you can tell us where specifically you are looking at the hit chart, we can look at that part of code.

I'm looking at my website (Customer ID: 81BFA9C47F). On the hit locations chart for Cole Wise, it shows a fly ball to right-center field and a line drive to pretty much that same location. You can hardly see the green line because it's being covered up by the shadow.

It's really not that big of a deal, I just thought I would make a suggestion.
