It would be very helpful to be able to download names to team rosters from the USSSA or other organizations team roster websites.

Do you have a URL to the USSSA rosters?

The topic has come up before, although there is not a direct dowload and import function...you can copy the usaaa info from their web site and then paste into the team roster on the admin web site. Then import into your hand held device.

FTM - The URL to a team's current roster is:

http://www.usssa.com/sports/ViewTeamHistory.asp?teamid=???????&CurrentSeasonOnly=0

The teamid is a number for the team and is different from year to year for the same team. CurrentSeasonOnly has values that I've seen of 0 and 1 (1 being a listing of all players that have been on that roster and 0 being the current roster). Unfortunately, there is no way that I know to search for a team by name. You either have to get to a team roster through the tournament listing or by listing teams by age, state and classification.

The link works, we are just saying it requires a log in to the site, and we won't have a way we can do that from the device. We would only be able to use URLs that don't require a login if we are going to be able to automate anything.

Given the number of associations out there for baseball and softball ....I would think there are higher priority tasks than trying to automate roster downloads
