Scorekeeper signin & Manager approval

As I've previously posted, our youth baseball league is using iPads and iScore next spring. With many scorekeepers, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to know who the scorekeeper is for each game, and was thinking that another line in the Game Details section of each game would be helpful to have for this purpose. It would also be nice to have that information upload to the website with the option to make public or only viewed by admin and managers. With that thought, I might need to also know the names of the umpires for each game. So, one new line for scorekeeper, and one for umpire.

One other thought, managers typically have to sign the paper score book at the end of the game. How about adding a way for the managers to approve the score. Here's one thought, the manager selects an approval button which pops up after the game has completed. When selected, it leads to a screen with the title, "Please sign for approval of this game" along with a button to toggle between home and visitor. The manager from each team signs his/her name with their finger, hits the "Approve" button, and a thumbnail of each signature is viewable on the Game Info page, as well as, uploaded to the website for admin use.

Thanks for all your work, and I'm really excited for the new update.

Cheers,
Jason

We do intend to make modification in the future to help with "official" scorekeeping. We believe our relationship with ESPN will help make this possible in ways nobody else possibly can.

Thank you for the suggestions.

During the interim until the next enhancement your scorekeeper could utilize the Game Info page, Notes, at the bottom of the screen to type in score keeper name and umpires. Not ideal but workable.

danmcc,
That's what I was planning to do for now. Just would like to have it separated for database structure and searching. Also, the signature piece would keep managers accountable. Oh ya, and signing your name with your finger adds to the coolness of the program.

Does anybody else out there require team managers and the official to sign the scorebook?

This is not really an issue in travel ball, but with the League sites on the horizon, this is something I think is going to be necessary.

I'm lobbying all leagues using iScore out there to hop on board and add your "like it" to this. Just add your signature HERE. Oh, we can't do that just yet. :D

Cheers,
Jason

Has this enhancement (ability for opposing manager and the umpire to "sign the book") been implemented yet? If so, how do you go about having this done?

Not implemented yet. .. when it does happen expect it to be off the Game info page, like location and winning and loosing pitcher.

that said, you have a free form comment section you can use if you want to capture anything you need for the game.

Is there any update on having the ability for the opposing manager and/or umpire to somehow "sign the book"?

We do not have anything to announce on this idea. It is on our list, but not a high priority right now.

I would really like to encourage the developers to add this as soon as possible. Our Little League requires Opposing Team and Head Umpire signatures for a book to be official.

I would really love to see that in this application.
