Play by Play Requests

I have two requests for play by play listing on both the Admin site and Team Websites.

1) It would be nice to see the outs as shown in the scorebook. Currently, we just get 'Ground Out' or 'Fly out'. For example, 'Ground Out 6-3' or 'Fly Out 7' would be great. I realize play by play is not supposed to be comprehensive like pitch by pitch, but that would be a good addition which would not take up too much space and give the reader a better understanding of what is happening.

2) Please consider giving a defensive setup before the game of both teams as they take the field. Currently, we see substitutions, but there is no way from the Play by Play alone to tell, for example, who the starting pitcher is unless they are subbed out later in the game.

For #1, we have seen some play by play listings that would say "Ground Out to Shortstop", or "Fly Out to Left Field", so we may modify to something easy to read like that. We are trying not to reproduce the full Pitch by Pitch, but adding just that little bit could be helpful and still not made things too wordy.

For #2, good idea! We will add this to our list of things to add as well.

There are certainly multiple styles. Just about any site you visit (CBS Sports, MLB, ESPN, USA Today, etc) will have something that is unique about their style.

Ours has some uniqueness as well (color coding, seeing pitches so you can determine counts, easily seeing what took place on each batters at bat instead of lumping them all by inning, etc) . All styles have advantages and disadvantages.

The one thing we feel ours really needs added is the starting lineups for each team, and we will add that soon.
