Earned vs Unearned runs

Post by ixamnis » Thu Apr 02, 2015 9:59 am

I've tried looking through the documentation and must be missing it. How do I know if iscore has a determined a run to be earned or unearned? Is there something in the scorecard I should be looking for? Pitch by pitch, play by play, box score?

The reason I ask is I scored a game yesterday where one team scored 9 runs and the official scorekeeper said only one was earned. Iscore said 5 were earned. I can figure that the bases empty home run that led off the 5th inning is the one earned run according to the scorekeeper. But I can't figure out which 4 of the other 8 runs iscore thought were earned.

The easiest way I've found to determine which runs were earned is to check the scorebook. Earned runs are solid blue. Unearned runs have a gradient from blue to white in the very middle of the diamond.

Do you mean the "scorecard" And if so I don't see a difference other than Home runs are dark blue and all other runs were light blue with dark blue basepath outline. I am doing this on an android phone if that makes a difference.

Agree with petro on iOS devices.

I do not have an android device handy to see if PDF is different , will be interested to hear from support on this one,, (android same I believe )

I have long thought and seen suggestions that an end of half inning recap would be nice addition to product.

Include things like runs (earned and unearned) # hits and # errors, and men left on base .. Typical recap for broadcasters.

I was hoping to hear from Support to by now too. I'm sure not seeing which runs were judged to be earned an which weren't based on scoring with an android phone.

The Android version does not have an option on the scorecard to see which runs are earned and which are unearned. It is on our list of things to add in a future release.

If you view the Inning Recap, it will show the number of earned runs in each inning. It is not too hard to figure out from there which are being counted as earned vs unearned.
