Warning for too many batters?

Post by rayboston » Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:55 am

Hi,

Last night I messed up my lineup because I had two batters (10 and 11) in the lineup who were at the bottom of the starting lineup page.

Given that I had set up the game to have 9 batters, it would be nice if the software warned me of having too many batters. It would also be nice to be warned if there are unfilled positions.

Thanks!

There is actually not a setting for the number of batters... this is purely determined by how many you set to Batting = YES. There is a setting for number of fielders (9 or 10), but many youth leagues play with 9 fielders but still have the whole lineup bat for example.

We could come up with a warning for unfilled positions, but it is not uncommon to start the play without all the positions set, and not set them until you actually see players in the field... this is how many games are scored since the lineups that are traded at the start of youth games often only show batting lineup and not fielding positions.

Good points. I think this all falls under the mlb-mode request where a preference presets things such as the number of batters.
