Scorecard on Admin Site

Post by OhioTex » Sat May 01, 2010 4:25 am

now that scorecards are being captured on the team web site when emailed, (great) Should they also be linked to Admin Site?

(find my self having to go back and forth... Admin Site for spray charts, Team site for ScoreCards, hand held for game Specific Stats, ideally would like to have all on Team Site "one stop shop".. at least if going to be on both Admin and Team Site, rolled out at the same time)

The Admin Website is intended to supplement functionality available from the device, not duplicate it. It is an extension of the application go be used by the scorekeeper. There is no charge, and it does not require us to store extra data on the server.

The Team Websites are intended to be shared with others so will have functionality that is duplicated out of necessity (scorecard, stats). Additional things have to be stored / hosted for the team websites so we have the small annual fee to cover out costs and make a small profit.

Hope this makes sense.

makes sense. I highly recomend the team website. and expect the best new features to be there. that is why i expected to see hit charts there. and so when i was having to go to admin site to view hits charts, i wanted to see the scorebook associated with it, and found out .. not there on the other site. So the real hope is if it is on the admin site, make it available on the team site. Make sense?

We will be adding the Hit Charts to the Team Website... as noted in another thread, the challenge is where to put it. We saw the suggestion of putting it on the Games tab --- that would reveal the hit chart for that game. The downside is most people are leaving their Games tab not password protected (which we like), and the hit chart feels like it should be protected more than that --- you don't want your opponents seeing your hit charts.

They really fall more into the Statistics categories as far as a Team Website is concerned. The site is really about "your team", not other's teams, so it seems logical they would have the same level of protection as the team stats (i.e. if you don't care about others seeing your stats, you probably don't care about others seeing your hit charts). So if we put the hit charts there, how would we do that? Need to find a logical place for a button or a link from within Stats.

The other option we have been bouncing around is adding a "Reporting" tab, but currently this would be the only thing that went there.

FWIW, my vote would be to have the hit charts on the stats page or the roster page. Both are password protected on my site. I would not want my opponent to see the hit chart for my players. I an a web novice but perhaps the hit chart could be on a page that FTM chooses but a toggle on or off is available at the settings page?
