Stat Selections

Post by cdave » Tue Apr 27, 2010 8:43 am

I would like to suggest a stat selection option for all of the reports. Since some of the stats are becoming too much (and this would allow to add even more stats), it would be nice to have the option to select which stats you would like to see on the screens (that would be saved once you entered your preferences).

For example, my son plays coaches pitch and I really don't need to see the number of pitches, stolen bases, strikes, balls, etc., but for older kids, these stats may be relevant. In addition, if I had the option to choose, I may not want to see sacrifice flies, sac bunts, on base percentage, etc.

If you had some way to choose the stats that are see on the screen and on the printed reports, I think this could be a way to add a bunch more stats to the program without it being cumbersome. I would think this could be done in the options menu with a page for screen options and a page for report options. That way, each user could pick out the stats that are important to them.

Don't know how easy this would be, but wanted to suggest it anyway. I think it would take care of a lot of the needs of the users for all of the different levels and different stats that everyone would want or not want. I think it could also simplify the program for beginning users who may be intimidated by the vast amount of info in this program.

We have had this capability on our enhancement list for quite a while now... it is just a matter of prioritizing. It is getting closer to the top (along with the new stats like RBOE, First Pitch Strike, and a few others). Next time we add stats to a release, we will likely add the ability to select which stats to include in your reports.
