HTML Stats

Post by CentreCountySports » Wed Apr 21, 2010 3:43 pm

If there is a way then I haven't found it. Can you format the colors of the background of the stats tables? The color scheme just doesn't fit quite right with my website. I would think it would be a 3 simple variables in the base settings. I could manually change them after the fact but I haven't bother to since I'm doing a bunch of other things after a game to get involved with that yet. Even if there is no formatting it would be better as my website style sheet would then take over but being it is set at the row level it doesn't.

Also, is there anyway to re brand and maybe even host the iscorecast myself? This is a branding thing and would even be something I'd pay extra for. I do photography and I cover highschool sports. I look at this product as very valuable tool and I know you guys would probably like more customers but I'd like to keep this quiet from potential competitors in my local area.

Both the custom colors and putting iscorecast in your own web site are available with Team Websites. Check out http://iscorebaseball.com/gallery/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

That makes no sense at all. How is getting a website through you and branded with all your stuff make it my website. It still YOUR stuff. I want custom colors in the stats exported to my email. You are assigning it somewhere. Why not make it an option in the settings. And please READ my post again. I said I'd like functionality on MY site not the site I would have to pay you extra for that still is all branded with your info and has no where near the functionality I need in a website. No offense.

The team website would not have our branding on it. The default site we create has our branding, but if you look at the gallery, other than the first website which is intentionally the default, you wil not see our brand at all. All of the actual data pages can also be embedded in your own website as well in IFRAMEs. You can use just the data from the team websites and not use the "shell" we create at all. This allows immediate updates whenever you export your database from iScore.

CentreCountySports- As you appear to be a webmaster, with a very nice website, and a strong commercial sense of competitive edge. It would appear FTM has already made available the raw materials neccesary for you to integrate into your site how ever best fits your needs. The team web site service FTM offers, does not come close to offering the degree of customization you already have on your web site. and for you probably not worth teh subscription, as you can get the raw content from the free admin site.

The FTM Team Pages are more geard to folks who do not have the skills or intertest in developing more sophisticated sites like you have. Other independent web sites, more on a scale of yours, have demonstrated the ability to take the raw data, stats, and even iScorecast provided by iScore and successfully integrated into their web site, colors, shapes and sizes and iFrames.. pretty free and clear of any iScoreBranding, except perhaps on iscorecast with the iSocreBaseball logo at top of screen and bottom left.

Seems pretty reasonable what FTM has proivided as is for 10$ app...

Yes the application is wonderful and I would pay double the price for it. I'm asking for 1 simple thing that for what ever reason I can't seem to get across. I want a variable in the App that lets me decide the color of the table rows when it exports the data through email and maybe a way to put my logo where the iscore baseball is. I can't ask for features? S I said I'd pay extra in an in App purchase if neccessary to remove branding and such. That all I'm trying to say

We are having a hard time understanding how the team website with no branding and the same view of stats data with your own colors is any different than what you are asking for. Can you explain how that could not be used for your purpose? You are saying you would pay for the feature, so it is not the price that is the issue, so we are trying to understand what the issue is so that maybe we can address it. Thank you.

I think he's taking about the HTML generated in the exported emails, not the team web sites. He wants to host the stuff at his own site.

You would probably be better off reading in the stat files and then formatting them how you like. Of course, that still leaves you out in the cold for the line score (I enter those by hand, then read up all the rest of the stats). Another choice would be simply to do a find/replace on the HTML - find the color you want to change and replace it with the one you do want.

At some point FTM may allow you to customize the colors, but until then it's pretty easy to work around it.

Forget the website for a second. When I finish a game I email all the game stats and such to myself. In that email body it has the table of data and you have it already formated with different shades of green. Can you add a setting in the app t pick those colors. What I do after the game is I process my photos, write up a game story, do some other minor thngs and then I copy all that data n those tables and paste it right in my post. I could manually go inane change colors for all the rows but it would be nice to have it already done on exporting to email. Plainly put your website option is not up to the standard that I need and
what. Also since I am a business how is this agreement you just entered inwith ESPN going to affect me? I don't want to be accused of trying to say I'm affiliated with espn

We will add the request for customizing the colors of the output to our enhancement list for future prioritization.

We are not saying that the websites compare to yours. We are just giving it as an option for a way that the tables can be generated in the colors you are looking for automatically. The websites have this customization option now, so it would give you a way that you can get access to the tables in the colors you want without having to go through the email and update the tables.

Our agreement with ESPN should not affect anyone - the product remains the same. You are not affiliated with ESPN any more than you are affiliated with Faster Than Monkeys prior to the agreement. You are a user of the product.
