Pre-Load Games and Pre-Load Positions

Post by Underdog » Tue Apr 20, 2010 6:10 am

These are two that would really help in my league. I'm getting more and more coaches to buy iScore so the data sharing update that just came out will be great. Back to my ideas:

1. Have the ability to pre-load new games since we already have the full schedule for the season. Right now you can only add a game on the date it is being played - there's no way I can see to change the date. It would be great to be able to enter in all the games in the season, then just select them and score them as they happen, week by week.

2. In youth leagues, kids are constantly changing positions every inning - we have a rule that a player must play 3 innings in the infield, and 3 in the outfield. I'm sure not everyone has the same rule, but I bet there is a lot of position changing nevertheless. Right now, you have to manually add in each player's position every inning. This gets cumbersome as there is usually not too much time between half-innings. So to complement suggestion #1, it would be great to be able to pre-load positions for the entire game, since again I've already worked this out on paper prior to the game. If one or two kids doesn't show, it's okay to enter manual changes, but it would be great if it were all set for the whole game.

Appreciate this app immensely, thanks for all the work.

#1 You certainly can preload the season. The default date in the name can be changed by holding your finger down for a second or two until you get the magnifying glass - then edit as you would any text field. You can also edit the date in the Game Manager after selecting the game.

That works, but not in the game setup screen. Any date changes there do not hold. You need to select the game again after you've input it (it still has today's date), and change the date again. Then it holds. But thanks for this, at least now I have all the games in there.

Preset rosters is something that is already on our enhancement list for a future release, and is moving up the priority list. We don't know when it will be available yet, but it is definitely something we will be doing.

The trick is to hit "return" after fixing the date. I had the same problem you did until I found that out. I do this for every game so it does work.
