Post-game Edit Request

Post by teamchampion02 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:11 am

I have run into issues where I need to perform a post-game edit - but I have limited choices in what to do. I would think I would be able to have the choice to modify anything. However, I've found a couple of times where I had to make a note of what exactly happened so I could then come back and completely rescore the game. Seems like something is missing but I'm not sure why. Any explanation why we have limited choices on post-game edits?

You can not make changes that will potentially effect the outcome of later parts of the game (e.g. you can not change a player that was SAFE to an OUT because you would then have 4 outs in the inning assuming you recorded 3 outs later in the inning). We have documented the issues many times in this forum.

We do continue to add to the things you can modify post game, but the "ripple effect" is something that we have to always keep in mind as we want to make sure the games do not get into "impossible states".

Here is one of the many threads on this which touches on some of the frustrations you are feeling as well as some of the reasoning for why you aren't given "the choice to modify anything":

I think the option to restore how a double play occurred should be an option and I don't have that capability.
