Trending stats?

Post by teamchampion02 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:22 am

As a fastpitch softball coach, I utilize the League function as a way of grouping our tournaments. However, some tourneys are 3 games.....others 4 or 5 or whatever. Then throw in a DH here and there.....

I'd like to see the stats tied into a 'trending' screen - where we can select the last ______ games and get a report on the stats of those games. Even if it was tied into a calendar feature where we can select a trend over a given week, month, etc. This helps me easily identify the kids that are gaining ground, and the ones that really need extra instruction.

In addition - the ability to see stats versus specific teams would be nice. We don't play in a league - but given the nature of tournaments, we often run into teams 4-5 times throughout the year. The ability to select stats versus a specific team would be nice.

I know this request closely touches to the "League Manager" functionality - however, we are already into a 60 game season......with roughly 20 more games to go. I currently have 20 leagues created to cover each of our tournaments and DHs (double headers) - not to mention the remaining games that will be put into various leagues.

It seems there has to be a better, more user friendly way to sort/group/slice/dice/arrange the data in different views to make it more digestible.

I use Leagues to do a "Last 10 Games" grouping. Just each new game to this league and then remove the oldest. This keeps a rolling 10 game group.

Its not too hard to do...but agree, could be more user-friendly. If you suddenly decided you want 5 games or 15 games, its a little tedious to go in and add or subtract the games.

But it can be accomplished with leagues...
