pinch hitters and pinch runners

Post by dennislewis3 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 10:36 pm

When a pinch hitter or pinch runner is inserted a hyphen shows on the scorecard instead of ph or pr, would like to see that changed.

Usually a pinch hitter or runner actually becomes a sub for the player as well (at least at youth levels), so the scorecard will show the fielding position they took when you record that. There is not a "position" of Pinch Hitter or Pinch Runner, it is more of an "action" which is why we do not list it on the scorecard. We will add the request to our enhancement list for future prioritization. Thank you.

Along these lines - I substituted a PR for the DH, and then left him in as DH. But I couldn't find a way to mark him as DH - all that was there was the dash. It didn't really affect anything, as he just batted without a position, but did I miss something? Or is there no way to substitute and have the new player be marked "DH"?

If you used pinch runner to sub him in, we can see this happening. If you tapped the batter and made an offensive subsitution for the DH (you can actually do this for any player, not just the batter... tapping batter just brings up offensive substitutions), then we would it to show up with DH as his position.

I was hoping to end the inning (and the game) so I just hit "pinch runner." But when the game went on, I just left him in as the DH.

In the White Sox/Royals game of April 5, Brent Lillibridge pinch ran for DH Adam Dunn. Lillibridge was caught stealing, but never came to bat. iScore credited him with a CS but not a Game Played.
