Spray chart for hits against us

Post by iscore@tragus.org » Wed Apr 13, 2011 7:16 am

At last night's game our coach was sorting out who should go where in the outfield. He wanted to know, in general, where our opponents have been hitting. The best I could think of was to pull up the scorecards for the last few games & look for a pattern.

It would be nice if I could pull up a spray chart for a previous game. Even better would be to select a group of games (maybe via League) & see them all together.

you are correct, on the device you can only see player spray charts, (you know this)..

on the my.iscorecentral.com admin web site you can review (and print) whole team spray charts for teams scored.

It would be great if the hit spray charts were also included in the email game stats and cumulative stats.

Another take on this...how about an opposing batter spray chart for pitchers? Would be useful for defensive setup and pitcher development.

This request has come up before and is considered more analytics than actual scoring. IScore has been developed more as a scoring app than an analytics app, although there are some great reports that work for most users. There is a third party, edgehq.com that imports iScore data and can do more analytical things. There is a new forum at the bottom of the portal that goes into more detail.

The spray charts and specifically spray chart version may be analytical, but it would be very useful to have on hand during the game, without having to leave the application. A coach might want to see how a hitter, or team fairs against various pitchers on the roster when deciding who to bring in.

I also would like to see the spray charts on the emailed summaries.

If you log in to the Admin Website, you can view the Hit Charts for any team as a PDF, and even email / print that PDF for use at game time.
Check out the new iScore Baseball documentation page!
Includes videos and user manual.

Just some practical limits on what a 10$ app can do vs a server and computer.

This is an old topic/thread but still would be great if we had this feature available (Android). EdgeHQ is VERY pricey ($199/yr to $299/yr). Not exactly single non-college team targeted, even though the information would be very beneficial to a user.

Guess it's paper & pen time.
