Edit previous games

Post by gca14of17 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 4:18 pm

Will you be adding the ability to go back and edit a play without having to undo everything. After each game the coaches discuss the plays and it would be useful to be able to change plays such as, changing an error to a hit or vice versa

You can change errors to hits and vice versa after a game right now. Just go to Game Manager, select your game, select Pitch by Pitch, and touch the pitch you want to change. You can edit a hit to an error or an error to a hit.

Can you allow us to change an out to a hit post game? We have had a couple of situations where our scorer records the play as an out but it was actually a hit and then the out took place after the runner reached first safely.

Being able to edit these situations is helpful

ddonavan, I believe that is the intention of FTM for more permissive editing than is now available.

However, during the game the scorer can either hit undo to rescore the play at the time of the mistake or after the out is touched but runner is safe then shake the iTouch to cancel what has been input but not completed.

You can change hits to errors and errors to hits, but not hits to outs or outs to hits. We will be allowing more of these types of edits in future releases. In your case, it would not even just be changing an out to a hit. It would be changing an out to a hit, then adding a record stating the runner was then out for another reason. We will be allowing these types of updates in a future release as well.

I have a play where someone was scored with an out and no hit because they tried to get to second after the hit. I need this to be a hit and out trying to steal second. Any way to do this?

You can edit the player stats directly to give the player a hit by going to Game Manager, select the game, select Batting Stats for that team, then tap the player's Hits for the game, and increase the count by 1. You can add a note to the play in the Pitch by Pitch editor saying what actually took place.
